Youth Program Goals:
1.
To see the lives of our youth changed by the teaching and example
of Christ from the lives of their parents and fellow brethren at Sanford.
2.
To see our ministries flourish by their participation, youthful zeal and
"Can Do" attitude.
3.
To see all our youth respond to the truth and encouragement of Christ’s
Word. Making him the Lord of their
life.
Youth Program Vision:
To be a church that...
·
Attracts children, both our own and others, so that they might
hear about the love of Jesus
·
Attracts parents by virtue of our concern for children
·
Provides spiritual support and resources to families as they build
Christian homes
·
Displays to children a real and active God as we share with them
our own faith
·
Guides children as they develop their own relationship with Jesus
·
Fosters healthy peer relationships for every child
·
Provides children with opportunities to learn about and practice
Christian living and service
·
Sows the Word of God in the hearts of children
Policy
for Ensuring the Well-Being of Our Children:

We
are a church dedicated to ministering to Children and Youth and committed to
being pro-active when it comes to the care and keeping of children.
Primary Features involving our Children's Ministry and
Youth Ministry:
Ü
To only use volunteers who have filled out an application and have
been screened
Ü
To use volunteers who have been part of our congregation for at
least six months, except for special cases where appropriate references have
been thoroughly checked
Ü
To have at least two approved workers with our children during
classes and organized activities
Ü
That all concerns and suggestions regarding the safety and care of
our children will be taken seriously
A high standard of ministry to children and youth demands
a strong partnership between staff, volunteers and parents.
Ü
Together, we provide the Children's and Youth Ministries.
Ü
Together, we can provide a safe, nurturing environment in which we
can bring our children to the Lord.
What we ask of parents as partners:
Ü
Prayer, for our children, our parents and other volunteers who
minister to them.
Ü
Alertness, responsibility, and thoughtfulness: to your child's
needs, to the needs of volunteers, and to conditions that need improving.
Ü
For you to stay with your child until two approved workers are
present.
Ü
For you to monitor your children when they are not under the care
of a volunteer. Running in
the building is discouraged.
Ü
Commit to help adequately staff our Children's and Youth
Ministries and make them all God wants them to be.
Ü
Sign and return permission slips promptly for special activities.
