Praising
God THROUGH OUR YOUTH:
Our youth are an
important part of our family here at
Sanford
. As a church family, we recognize the outstanding potential of our youth and
provide opportunities for their spiritual growth and development. Luke 2:52 –
“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”
Children’s Bible Hour is available for children age two up to age five.
The Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes program is offered for grades three
through high school. Weekly devotionals and Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF) are
also a part of our youth development ministry at
Sanford
. Proverbs 22:6 – “Train up a
child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Praising
God THROUGH OUR YOUTH BIBLE CLASSES:
The
Sanford
family is committed to teaching, guiding and encouraging young students.
Classes are provided for the spiritual growth and development of infants through
grade twelve. These classes are
taught by caring and dedicated adults who serve as positive role models.
Classes are taught on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.
Praising
God THROUGH OUR ADULT BIBLE CLASSES:
Separate classes are
offered on Sundays and Wednesdays for young adults through senior adults.
Each stage of life presents specific challenges of Christian growth and
living. Opportunities are afforded for Biblical studies and discussion to guide
and instruct singles, young married, parents and grandparents in Christian
truths and principles. Particular
topics are addressed through specially scheduled classes and workshops as
needed.
Praising
God THROUGH OUR Fun-TIMERS:
Our mature Christians are
a vital source of knowledge and inspiration in our
Sanford
family. This group of dedicated
Christians meets regularly for activities, service projects and fellowship.
Praising
God THROUGH OUR Mosaic Ministry:
A place where "single" means family!
The mission of the Mosaic
Ministry is to create an environment in which we grow in our knowledge of and
devotion to Jesus Christ. Through
this relevant and relational ministry, we will impact the surrounding community
and world for Christ. The
Sanford Mosaic Ministry is open to Christian adults of any age who are single,
divorced, widowed, or attending church without spousal support.
While there are many "singles" in this ministry and we are
involved in meeting the needs of single adults in our congregation, this is not
a ministry focused on "singleness."
This is especially true if "single" is seen as the opposite of
family. The very idea of mosaic
would suggest that our ministry is a place where anyone can be a part and we
welcome your involvement. We believe the Bible is very clear that no one in the
kingdom
of
God
is a "second class" citizen. Everyone
in our ministry is called to "cutting edge" ministry.
We do not encourage shadow living; our goal is to have class members
become core members of the
Sanford
family. Spiritually speaking,
fringe living is no fun and very unhealthy.
We want all of our members to experience a strong personal relationship
with God and a meaningful involvement in God's work.
Both Jesus Himself and the apostle Paul were single.
Neither of them lived in the shadows of God's work.
On the contrary, they both impacted the world in ways that will never be
reversed. Members of the Mosaic
Ministry find strong support from the Christian friends they meet in this
ministry. That support is
strengthened through studying God's word together each Sunday in our Bible
classes, social events and monthly devotionals where we enjoy each other's
company and build life-long relationships. Because
you matter to God, you are not only welcomed to this ministry, you are very
important to us. Come let us help
you find your place to serve with us. For
more information, please contact Bill Ledbetter or Sherry Pierson by leaving a
message with the church office at (407) 322-7781.
Praising
God THROUGH BENEVOLENCE:
Galatians 6:10 – “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let
us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of
faith.”
The
Sanford
church strives to serve others who may have needs.
Food is collected and distributed from the food pantry regularly as
various needs arise. The members
make generous donations so that the pantry is stocked and ready for use when
anyone might have a need.
Praising
God THROUGH evangelism:
Matthew
28:19-20 – “Go therefore and make
disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to
observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even
to the end of the age." Amen.
2 Timothy 2:15 –
“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need
to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
We are involved in many areas of evangelism
extending from the church body and outward.
We have an in-reach ministry that serves to care for the brethren at the
Sanford
congregation. This ministry is
setup to see that cards are sent, calls are made, and visitations are made to
those of our number who are sick or are struggling and also to rejoice with our
number who are celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, and other joyful occasions.
Our out-reach ministry uses many means to accomplish the spreading of the
Gospel. This Web site for example
offers no less than three Bible study opportunities.
Additionally, we have in-home studies available, which are offered on a
continuing basis.
Praising
God THROUGH edification:
2
Corinthians 12:19 – “Again, do you think that we excuse ourselves
to you? We speak before God in Christ. But we do all things, beloved, for
your edification.”
The family environment at
Sanford
is second to none. One of the most
often received comments from our visitors is the welcome that they receive from
the brethren. We firmly believe that
one of the most important aspects is the fellowship that we are to have with one
another, and the joy that we are to have when visitors arrive to worship with
us. We welcome all people into our
assembly to learn about God's Word and the joy of being a member of His church.
Our worship assemblies are God-focused, uplifting, and in line with what
we find in the scriptures. We have
many times of fellowship throughout the year as well as family group activities
to provide further personal fellowship with one another.
Praising
God THROUGH MISSIONS:
Mark 16:15 – “And Jesus said to them, "Go
into all the world and preach the gospel
to every creature.” We feel
strongly our responsibility to share the Good News of Salvation with our
neighbors at home and around the world. We
support the following missions: Locally, the
Christian
Home
and
Bible
School
, and Central Florida Bible Camp. Our
foreign mission focus is in
Jamaica
, while our “Domestic” mission focus is on the East Orange Church of Christ,
in Christmas,
Florida
.
Praising
God THROUGH OUR LOCAL MINISTER:
Romans 10:14-15 – “14How
then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they
believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a
preacher? 15And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is
written: "How beautiful
are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of
good things!"
Our minister, Walter
Person, came to serve with us in July 2003.
He has been a minister of the Gospel since 1987.
We look forward to growing and serving the Lord for many years to come
with Walter and his family.
Praising
God THROUGH OUR INVITATION TO YOU:
Our invitation to you is
none other than that of Jesus himself. Serving
Him, we extend to you His own words from Matthew
11:28-29 – “28Come
to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly
in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
The Sanford Church of
Christ would like to invite you to be a part of the Lord’s church as we
endeavor to honor Him through loving service.
If you have any questions or concerns, we would urge you to ask any of
the members or minister. It would be
a privilege to assist you. You are
our honored guest.
